Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I sign in with Google?
A Google account signing in for the first time needs to be approved by an admin before it can actually sign in. After signing up with Google, you'll see a message saying your account is pending approval — wait for an admin to activate it, then click "Sign in with Google" again exactly as you did when signing up. If it's taking a while, reach out via the contact section on the Help page.
Why does the score announcement feature only read in one language?
Score announcements use your browser/operating system's built-in text-to-speech voices, not a voice built into Billiard Scoreboard. If your device doesn't have a voice installed for your preferred language (e.g. no Vietnamese voice), the app falls back to your device's default voice — usually only able to read one language — so you'll hear the score read in a different language than the one selected in the app. Make sure your system has a voice installed for the language you want, following the steps below, then reload the page.
Windows
- Open Settings (press the Windows key, type "Settings", press Enter).
- Go to Time & Language → Speech.
- Under "Manage voices", click "Add voices".
- Find and select the language you want (e.g. "Vietnamese (Vietnam)"), click "Add" to download it.
- Wait for Windows to finish downloading the voice, then reload the Billiard Scoreboard page.
macOS
- Open System Settings from the Apple menu.
- Go to Accessibility → Spoken Content.
- Click the "System Voice" dropdown, choose "Manage Voices...".
- Find the language you want in the list and check it to download.
- Wait for macOS to finish downloading the voice, then reload the Billiard Scoreboard page.
