User Guide & Help
Two basic steps to start scoring a billiard match: create a match, then score it turn by turn. Details below.
1. Create a new match
From the "Free matches" page, click "+ Create match" and follow these steps:
- Enter each player's name (2-6 players). Typing a name that already has an account shows a suggestion — pick it to link the match to that account.
- (Optional) Enter a handicap for each player in the box next to their name.
- Choose the visibility: Public (anyone can view), Restricted (link-only), or Private (only you).
- Choose the start time.
- Choose the scoring mode (Regular or Survival), a target score or a max turn count, and the win condition.
- (Optional) Turn on the shot clock to limit each player's time per turn.
- Click "Create match" — the match starts right away, ready to score.
2. Score a match
The scoreboard works entirely by tapping:
- The player whose turn it is has a pulsing green border.
- Tap that player's card once for every point they score — tap repeatedly for several points in the same turn. The row of 3 numbers at the bottom of the card shows the points about to be scored (the highlighted one).
- To add several points at once (e.g. 5 in one go) or correct the number: tap a number in that row of 3 directly — the row slides so the selected number stays in the middle.
- Tap the 🐢 icon instead of the card if that point was a lucky ("rùa") shot — the number beside it is the lucky total.
- Done scoring for this turn? Press the blue + button to record the points and hand the turn to the next player (pick 0 then press + to skip a turn) — or tap another player's card.
- The match ends automatically once the target score or max turn count is reached; the winner's total turns green.
3. Swap players / change who plays first
Only available before the match records its first shot (even a skip) — both actions lock afterward:
- Tap any player's avatar on the scoreboard to set them to play first — a small "1" badge appears on the selected player's avatar.
- For a 2-player match: click the swap icon (⇄) next to the two names at the top of the match page to swap their name, handicap, and avatar entirely — each seat's ball color stays put.
4. Announce scores & voice scoring
Two independent voice options, each toggled separately on the "Account info" page — turning one on doesn't require the other:
- Announce scores: enable "Announce scores" on the account page — whenever a turn worth at least 1 point ends, the browser speaks the player's name and the score aloud.
- Voice scoring: enable "Voice scoring" on the account page — a floating mic button appears on the scoreboard; press and hold it to drag it elsewhere.
- Tap the mic button and say "<player name or ball color> <number> points", e.g. "Peter 3 points" or "white ball 3 points".
- It's only accepted when the name or ball color matches whoever is currently up in that exact match — a correct match shows the point count for you to tap and confirm; nothing is recorded until you do.
5. Ways to sign in
The sign-in page supports several ways to get in:
- Email & password: sign in with an existing account.
- Sign in with Google: use your Google account directly — a matching existing email auto-links and signs you in; a brand-new email creates a new account, which may need an admin's approval first depending on the server's configuration.
- Sign in with a passkey: use your device's fingerprint, face, or PIN instead of a password — add a passkey first under "Passkeys" on the account page (requires signing in some other way at least once), then sign in directly with it from the sign-in page with no email needed.
- Continue as Guest: view public matches in read-only mode, no account needed — can't create matches or score them.
